Land of unequal opportunity
George Romney |
Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) was on CNN's State of the Union with Candy Crowley recently. He told Crowley, in discussing the presidential contest, that "the American people don't want to vote for a loser."
He went on to say, "They don't want to vote for someone who hasn't been successful. I think Mitt Romney has a chance to show the American people that they, too, can succeed."
He might also have mentioned that it's a lot easier to succeed when your father is a wealthy auto executive who goes on to become governor of Michigan.
America, a land where anyone born into privilege has a very good chance of not squandering the advantages their parent's wealth gave them.
