Glenn Beck is an asshole
By Michael J.W. Stickings
I know, I know. I should tell you something you don't know. And maybe I shouldn't waste any blogospheric space on such an asshole. Surely there are more important things to be writing about. Like, oh, I don't know... Iraq, or Burma, or those forest fires in California. Speaking of which -- the forest fires, that is -- here's what Beck said yesterday on his radio show:
Right, so Beck -- assholery in full flower and on prominent display -- talks about coming together in the center (wherever that is), but some people hate America, and their homes are being burned down, and they're probably Democrats.
You see, he tries to cover himself, speaking the language of inclusion and understanding, on his own terms, but the cover is transparent and the core, what Beck is really all about, is appalling -- just the sort of ideological extremism and scapegoating that makes the right tick.
Digby: "I'm as partisan as they come and I really don't like Republican politics, but I can honestly say that it has never once entered my head to say that people in Oklahoma or Mississippi who lost their homes from tornadoes or whatever, hate America. It just doesn't compute that anyone human actually looks at the world this way --- especially as he's blathering some incoherent gibberish about how we need to all be 'one America.' It's sick."
Sick, twisted, and just what you'd expect from the Glenn Becks of the world.

When I say on the air, and I've said it a lot lately, that we need to come together and we need to get back into the center, we're being pushed on to the edges -- I want you to understand, that is not on policies. I don't mean that we come in the center on policies. We come to the center on principles. We come back to the center of the melting pot, that we're all one America, that just because I disagree with you doesn't mean you hate America, and I love America. We all love America. We just disagree on how we should function, what we should do, big government, small government. It doesn't mean you hate America. I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today.
There are a few people that hate America. But I don't think the Democrats are those. I think there are those posing as Democrats that are like that.

Yes, Glenn Beck is an asshole. He was fine with George Bush running America into the ground, and now we have an intelligent president and he's whining that he's worried about the country. I think its obvious he must be drinking again.
