For some excellent commentary on Giuliani's ridiculous "We are all members of the 9/11 generation" piece in Foreign Affairs, which I urge you to read, if only for insight into the disturbed mind of a possible president, see the Anonymous Liberal.
"The article only reinforces my belief that it is imperative that this man never be allowed anywhere near the White House," says A.L.
And I agree. Completely.

Over at the excellent Anonymous Liberal blog, which I always read although often disagree with, AL declares Rudy Giuiliani the Republican candidate that "terrifies" him the most.
Ever since Giuliani was mayor of NYC, I have always thought that liberals nearly visceral hatred of him was somewhat irrational. Here is a guy which really would not be out of place in the Democratic Party -- well maybe out of place in today's Democratic Party. He has a remarkable record of achievement as mayor of New York City, as a US Attorney, and we all know about the role he played after 9/11. It therefore puzzles me why he should be seen by so many liberals as some dangerous -- worst than the rest of the Republicans -- candidate.

I suspect that because you're trying to make this a "liberal" issue, no careful explanation of Rudy's failings or Rudy's theatrical attempts to turn himself into a hero would really matter.
Part of the chaos on 9/11 was Rudy's fault - in fact a good deal of death resulted from things he neglected to do, which wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't tried to steal some of the thanks due to the firemen and police and emt's, who seem to dislike him even more than I do.
Maybe you can dismiss them by calling them "liberals," but that gambit lost it's effectiveness a long time ago. When it comes to evaluating a cross dresser with three wives who told us blasphemy should be a felony and who thinks posing in front of some rubble makes him a hero as a potential President, I would guess that the Republican barrel doesn't have a lot of scrapings left at the bottom.

I'm a registered voting republican, and I cannot support Rudy. Every time I see him I can't help but remember his Donna Hanover Divorce. Very Public and quite nasty. As I recall his mistress was his aide/assistant and his family lived in the house where they(he and his aide) worked. No conscience. No wonder his kids hate him. It would seem that the man can't run for office without finding a new wife in the process. Do we (Americans) really need another white house scandal? I couldn't stand it.

all the anti-giuliani vitriol parallels that during the Reagan election of 1980........he was demonized by delusional liberals & the media. Reagan won in a landslide that the media said was "too close to call"
Giuliani, underestimated,like Reagan, as to his chances of winning, will go on to be a great president just as Reagan was.
