Behind the Ad: Democrats actually want to make America work
Who: The Elizabeth Warren campaign.
Where: Massachusetts.
What's going on: This is the latest ad, called "Rebuild" ("Why aren't we rebuilding America?), from the Elizabeth Warren Senate campaign in Massachusetts. I don't know why it frightens Republicans so much to say that government has a proper role to build and maintain infrastructure in America, but it does. The very simple idea that we would be unable to do anything as individuals unless we were also able to do things together confuses the hell out of them.
This is not to mention that our infrastructure -- our roads, our bridges -- are in a serious and dangerous state of disrepair or that putting people to work on them would be great for the economy. No, we wouldn't want Republicans to have to contemplate making America better and stronger, at least not while Barack Obama is in the White House.
