The truth about health-care reform: affordability
A few weeks ago, I put up a post by Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND), chairman of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee (DPC), introducing a new feature at the DPC's website called The Citizens Forum, a series of Qs and As in which senators answer specific questions about health-care reform.
Thanks to the good people at the DPC, I'll be posting some of the Qs and As here at The Reaction this week. Given that the Senate has formally begun its reform debate, it's an ideal time to try to get the truth out there as widely as possible, and we'll be doing our bit, not least to counter the Republican lies that continue to get such widespread attention in the media.
So here's the first one, a question about affordability answered by Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC):
Ruschelle Hamilton (Jackson, KY): What about those who can't afford insurance?
Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC): Health insurance reform will bring stability and security to all Americans.
