"Unhinged hysteria": More tea party extremism
By Michael J.W. Stickings
Another Photo of the Day, from Andrew Sullivan, who also provides some useful context.
You have to be truly and utterly deranged to think that health-care reform as Obama envisions it is even remotely akin to Hitler's "T4" Euthanasia Program.
But this is another sign, literally, of the current state of the conservative movement in America. And while I would stress that not every conservative is as deranged as this, we mustn't forget that the mob is being manipulated, and promoted, by some of the most prominent conservatives around, including top Republicans like Sen. Jim DeMint, leading pundits like Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, and Rush Limbaugh, and leading bloggers like Michelle Malkin and Glenn Reynolds (indeed, the right-wing blogosphere is glowing with enthusiasm -- see Memeorandum). This isn't some just fringe movement, it's the very core of Republican politics.
For more 9/12 signs of extremism, see Think Progress. (For our earlier Photo of the Day, see here.)
For more on how Republicans have embraced the mob, see the WaPo.

It works though. The more absurd the claim and the more horrible, the more delightful it becomes, the harder to disprove and the harder to kill.
