Legitimizing the healthcare reform lies

There are no "death panels" in the any of the bills before Congress. To say there are is a lie. This weekend the AP publicized Sarah Palin's claim of "death panels" but still danced around the lie. Until a lie is called a lie the misinformation will continue. Pointing out that some Republicans believe something and, on the other side, that some Democrats don't just doesn't cut it. Some Republicans believe the Earth is six thousand years old, because they do so doesn't mean there's a debate about how old the Earth is.

There is only so much Democrats can do to stop this. At a certain point the media must step up. False equivalents do not make a journalist unbiased, it makes them a bad journalist.
