The people's car company

I hate to say it, but at this point it probably would have made more sense to bail out the auto-workers directly and let the auto companies fail. Taking a 70% share of GM is too much in light of their dysfunction. Maybe GM and Chrysler will come out stronger, but history is not on their side.

why would bo do that? that would actually help the people he was hired to. But by threatening bankruptcy, the unions (that put him in office) had to cut benifits and dental & eyecare. This dumbfuck just screwed over the whole system. I hope you enjoy riding around in your 3 cylinder yugo 'cause thats the only platform of autos that will be rolling out of the assembly plant for gm and chrysler.

Riiiiight. Barack Obama was there in 1975 when GM and Chrysler desperately wanted to catch up to the Japanese who were making small cars, but he knew that 34 years later he would need to take them over, so he stopped the companies and the unions from catching up with the rest of the world and force them into bankruptcy.
Genius. Pure genius, I tell ya.
