Maurice Jarre (1924-2009)

By Michael J.W. Stickings

Maurice Jarre, the extraordinary film composer, has died at the age of 84.

Just imagine Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago without his music.

And here are some of the other movies for which he wrote the original score: The Man Who Would Be King, A Passage to India, Enemies: A Love Story, Dead Poets Society, Gorillas in the Mist, No Way Out, Witness, and Fatal Attraction.

A great career. An incredible contribution to cinema.
