Lewis Black on how to stimulate the economy

To me, Lewis Black is one of the funniest people in the world. And one of his funniest performances remains his 2004 Black on Broadway, available on DVD, which is mindbogglingly hilarious from start to finish.

The clip below, over nine minutes long, includes his fantastic, and fantastically relevant, take on how to stimulate the economy. Not refunds, not tax cuts, but a public works project -- specifically, you build something, namely, some "big fucking thing." This would create jobs and put money in people's pockets -- and those people would spend it, and that would stimulate the fucking economy!

It's so simply, really, yet the tax-cut-crazy Republicans don't get it, and the Democrats only sort of get it, and the current stimulus plan fall far short of what is needed.

Anyway, watch the clip, and enjoy. The second half includes Black's take on air travel, following his trip to New Zealand. It's among his best bits ever.
