Alan Keyes, loser
By Michael J.W. Stickings
Alan Keyes. He's got a screw or two (or more) loose, he's a loser (including to Obama in 2004), and he's our Craziest Conservative (and Republican) of the Day (and one of the craziest ever).
What for today? For viciously smearing Obama in a video that you can find at the Los Angeles Times's Top of the Ticket. (I have no interest reposting it here.)
Among other stupidities, he calls Obama "a radical communist." Huh? Yes, he's that deranged.
He also claims that Obama will "destroy this country." If he isn't stopped, the U.S. will "cease to exist." I'm not sure "deranged" is strong enough. Insane?
Obama is, to Keyes, "an abomination." Umm... fucking insane? (An abomination? Does that make him worse than, say, Hitler? Obviously, Keyes lacks, er, perspective.)
And that's just in the first minute. It goes on... and on... and, of course, Keyes raises the whole "Obama wasn't born in the U.S." conspiracy that continues to bounce around the crazier corners of the right.
You know what, though? Keyes is really just a fringe unto himself. Who cares what he has to say? It's not like he has any credibility or anything.
But what's with the LAT's Andrew Malcolm taking him so seriously? He claims that "the dispute over [Obama's] birthplace continues." Really? Does it? Where? In the mind of Alan Keyes? In Malcolm's warped delusions? On the fringe that they call home? "This simmering dispute, occurring online and in e-mails coursing daily across the Internet, seems unlikely to evaporate any time soon." Well, sure, but only because there are enough wackos on the right, Keyes and Malcolm included, to keep it alive, not because there's actually anything to it.
But what credibility does Malcolm have? He's consistently full of shit, too, just like Keyes, if with less venom and with less obvious mental instability.
The problem is with the LAT for giving Malcolm such a prominent platform from which to spew such nonsense -- and from which to assert that such sinister ramblings of the right, from Keyes and his ilk, actually have merit in the world of reality.

I bet Alan Keyes WOULD say Obama is as bad as Hitler. The whole abortion equals holocaust thing.
The Abomination was a super-villian in the early Marvel INCREDIBLE HULK comics in the early 1960s. Like the Hulk himself, the Abomination had green skin and extreme strength and near-invulnerability, all of which he acquired by irradiation with gamma rays. (Don't try this at home: I have actually irradiated mice with gamma rays. They did not turn green or acquire great strength. Their immune systems shut down.) Unlike the Hulk, the Abomination had pointy, webbed ears.
Alan Keyes should use his true gifts, and go back to singing classical music.

Why should anyone care what Allen Keyes says. The man is mad that he wasn't the first African-American President. He's childish. Why didn't the GOP tap him national chairman? Because his views are too narrow--less than 1 percent of the population would back him. The real reason the GOP didn’t pick him is because he is clinically insane. In other words, he's a functioning retard. His master should have never freed him from slavery. Brotha graduates from Harvard and think he knows everything. He’s a player hater plain and simple.
