See, now this is funny
By Michael J.W. Stickings
From the Seattle Post-Intelligencer's David Horsey, some brilliant satire (not like the lame, cheap satire on the cover of The New Yorker -- make sure to read Creature's and Libby's takes on it), filled with layers of artfully-reinforcing irony and potent commentary on the issue du jour:
Labels: 2008 election, Barack Obama, humor, John McCain, political cartoons

The one amuses as much as the other...both cartoonists are trying to portray their perception of how they believe their opponents perceive their candidates...both are as close to the truth as the other.

No, Obama's cover is not "close to the truth." He is not Muslim and Michele is not a Black Panther in disguise. However, McCain is old, he does want to bomb Iran, he is in favor of burning the Constitution and his wife was a pill popper.

And Barack snorted coke and McCain is not in favor of burning the Constitution. Bombing Iran, though - if done strategically, maybe a good idea! I'm jonesing for some shock and awe!

Creature , you obviously missed the irony within the Obama cartoon...it backfired since, it seems, that the general public are not as bright as the New Yorker's editorial staff imagined...taking the cartoon at face value.
