A question

By Heraclitus

Which partnership better expresses everything that's wrong with America, Jay-Z and Budweiser or Dennis Miller and Fox News? It's too close for me to call.

Speaking of problems with this great land of ours, it's hard not to be at least a little ambivalent about this country when you look at the TV listings to see which NFL games are going to be on and see this:
"Britney & Kevin: Toxic Lisa Joyner leads a panel of experts examining the marriage." And speaking of Britney and Kevin, Marc Faletti of PunkassBlog demonstrates that we are all Britney Spears now (and not because we all made millions of dollars via "Calling All Pedophiles" strumpetry and marketing).

  • I'll have to go with Jay-Z and Budweiser. Miller's been a GOP shill since 9/11, and it makes sense that Fox would like him. But the co-opting of hip-hip by big business is yet another example of the commercialization of cool and the corruption of radicalism with money.

  • As for Britney, she's as much a personification of the Apocalypse as anyone in American culture. K-Fed is just a joke.
