Daschle... Tom Daschle...
I'm not terribly excited about any of the major Democratic contenders for '08 -- Clinton, Biden, Warner, Feingold, Richardson -- but... Tom Daschle?
Can't you just feel the excitement?!
(I don't want to get ahead of myself, but Gore-Obama sounds really good at the moment.)

About Daschle ... I can't imagine that getting, in the DNC HQ, any response other than "Okay, who else is on the list?"
Your musing of a Gore-Obama ticket is most interesting ... Me thinks Gore is going to come charging out of the shadows and lay claim to the nomination ... He's been cagey, with some high-content speeches, keeping his hand in it and, almost unnoticed, his involvement with CurrentTV - cultivating the youth vote, perhaps?
The DNC will keep Hillary out on the frontlines, to bait the hook and absorb the hits ... At crunch time, though, they will build a ticket with the best shot of winning - and that doesn't include Hillary
The Dem's just need to hone down on their message/find their voice, and then not get in the way of the shit train that will be running through the RNC ...
Iraq War still will be the overall determining factor, but then, we still have the Abramoff Scandal, NSA Wiretaps, Scooter Libby Trial, the New Orleans Recovery, and whatever else breaks out (as likely it will) over the next year, or so ...
Peace

Current TV. Ah, yes, Al Gore's venture that took away NWI, and made us much more news-poor.
If it helps him launch a successful presidential campaign, perhaps it will have been worth it. Perhaps.
