CANADA HEADS TO THE POLLS
Yes, the Canadian federal election is today. And the last pre-election poll conducted by the Strategic Counsel for CTV and The Globe and Mail predicts that the Conservatives, out of power since 1993, will be able to form a minority government with almost twice as many seats in the House of Commons as the Liberals.

Isn't a minority government more the ideal situation in canada anyway????

Conservative minority sounds fine to me. I think in the Westminster system having a minority is a good check on executive power since the senate is pretty impotent. Though if the Conservatives were able to eek out a majority then that Liberal loaded Senate would probably become a last bastion of defence for all liberal Canadians. (I *think* I'm getting the hang of this big-L small-l liberal stuff hehe)
