Bomb found at San Francisco Starbucks

According to the Chronicle: "About 100 people were evacuated today and traffic on two busy San Francisco thoroughfares was rerouted after a Starbucks employee found a homemade bomb in a restroom."

No word if it was a grande or a venti.

(I know, it's a serious matter. At least no one was hurt. Think of all the lattes that would have been ruined.)

Speaking of Starbucks, here (via Slate) is how you can rip off the coffee giant and acquire a more satisfying cappuccino in the process.

  • Woah, good tip. I'm gonna go for a short cap next time. Another good bang for buck drink at Starbucks is the Americano or poor man's latte. Just get them to leave lots of room for milk if you prefer. The espresso has a much fuller flavour then their normal coffees though perhaps not as much of a caffeine hit.

  • I've found a similar problem with the different sizes of tea one can order at British train stations. Since the tea is made with bags and not pre-brewed, you can end up paying a lot more money for getting a weaker cuppa. (However, you can get a second bag added for no additional cost, at which point it IS economical to get the bigger size. Go figure.)
