The mayor and the president
President Bush and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin.
Political tensions abound, but it's time to work together. Ultimately, there will be plenty of blame to go around and plenty of time to lay that blame, but, for now, such differences must give way to unity for the sake of a common cause. The victims of Katrina deserve nothing less.

There's an interview with Maryor Nagin here. http://www.atypical.net/mm/nagin.mp3 He's not at all happy with the federal relief effort.

You're a nice person... and you're probably right about focusing on the task at hand and not all the finger-pointing. That said, it's important to analyze a mess like this and learn from it. And that learning may translate into votes too - the way it should.
