Jindal meets the press

By Creature

I don't know what Bobby Jindal was like before he became a GOP favorite for president, but the Jindal that was on Meet the Press today was a cookie cutter conservative who spouted Rush Limbaugh's talking points better than the Limbaugh himself. If his is the face of the "new" GOP, then they need to get a better plastic surgeon.

  • Why is that every time a conservative speaks he's "spouting Rush Limbaugh talking points"?

That shoe could easily be put on the Liberals foot as well.

No matter what Obama says, the left lines up behind him bobbing their head up and down like he can do no wrong.

Lastly, Bobby Jindal is very smart guy, and has done a great job in Louisiana.

  • Really? Obama is popular, yes, but it's not like liberals/progressives support him without reservation and do what he says. Indeed, Obama has been harshly criticized by many on the left, including Glenn Greenwald. The difference with conservatives is that many of them really do seem to be taking their cues from Limbaugh -- and, more broadly, from the right-wing spin machine, the propaganda arm of the GOP's conservative base. There's much greater orthodoxy on the right, much greater toeing the line, than there is on the left. We're hardly lining up behind Obama bobbing our heads, as you put it.

Personally, I do think Jindal is a pretty smart guy. Whether he's done such a great job in LA is another matter.
