It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Ahmadinejad

By Michael J.W. Stickings

Cheney and the neocons are crazy to want to go to war with Iran, whatever Iran's intent, but Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is crazy, too. Or, at least, he says the craziest (and most dangerous) things, even if they are more for domestic consumption than anything else.

Consider, for example, what he said yesterday about Israel: "With God's help, the countdown button for the destruction of the Zionist regime has been pushed by the hands of the children of Lebanon and Palestine. By God's will, we will witness the destruction of this regime in the near future."

Charming. Another rhetorical shot from The Madman of Tehran.

(Remember, though, that his best friends are those in the U.S. pushing for war. He needs them just as they need him.)

  • No crazier is it than the attempt that Lawrence B. Wilkerson, Colin Powell's top aid spoke about recently, to provoke a war with China over Taiwan.

Now that Bush has given himself dictatorial powers at any time he sees fit - and of course a provoked attack by China or a contrived attack on our warships by Iran would give him the opportunity - I think we know what we can look forward to unless we impeach the entire junta and jail them.

  • I see Russia and China getting tired of this radical western need to war. George wants a whole new layer of missiles all sporting that DU thang for better cutting forces to be placed right on the edge of Russian lands all ready to strike in a short time with little warning. What there being proposed to shoot at is very much up in the air. This i think is a REAL problem. The Iran President is a under siege front on the war against Money Changer protectorates and there various interferences and destruction.

Russia and China may have a thing or two to say about all this Empire building at the point of a mass Uranium dagger.
