Arkansas GOP calls for more attacks on U.S.
By J. Kingston Pierce
Is this the height of unfeeling, Machiavellian politicking, or what? Dennis Milligan, the recently promoted chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, tells Little Rock’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that what the United States needs is more terrorism, not less, if only to boost the fortunes of George W. Bush and their flagging party. “At the end of the day,” Milligan is quoted as saying, “I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [September 11, 2001], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country.”
Voters everywhere should be disgusted with what the GOP has become -- a party desperate for control, even if it means sacrificing the lives of young men and women in order to achieve its ends.
