Republicans: Ashamed of their own name

Daily Kos noted this yesterday, which is definitely worth re-posting. It's the National Republican Congressional Committee's website logo before and after a redesign.
In the "before" picture, the party name is clear:
In the "after" shot, the word "Republican" does not appear:
What was once the National Republican Congressional Committee is now just the NRCC. As Daily Kos points out, the word Republican is now so toxic even Republicans want to distance themselves from it.
In fairness, Democrats foolishly, in my opinion, once ran away from the descriptor "liberal." But they never ran away from their own party name. Hey, that's thinking outside the box.
