Tracking Sandy

By Michael J.W. Stickings

Our friend Mustang Bobby, a Florida resident and a man who has certainly seen his share of severe weather, has been tracking Hurricane / Superstorm Sandy (aka: the Frankenstorm, even the Perfect Storm) over at his place, and he's been posting maps of the storm's projected path from Weather Underground. Here's the latest:

We're certainly feeling it in the Toronto area tonight, and it looks like Tuesday and Wednesday will be rough -- if not quite as rough as what the eastern seabord is experiencing.

(See also the radar images here, tracking the storm from Cuba last Wednesday to now.)

  • My sympathies to all in the affected area and if any of them are amongst those who sneered at the plight of New Orleans ripped apart and drowned by a category 5 -- vastly more powerful -- I hope you'll gain some perspective.

I hope anyone planning to vote for the Republicans remember Mitt Romney's sentiments about FEMA and how Bush partied while New Orleans drowned.

Please imagine how it feels when your whole life is ripped apart and you're out standing in the rain, cold and hungry and consider giving a few bucks to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army. They don't make a profit but they sure as hell do help people who sure as hell need the help.
