Rick Santorum ratchets up the stupid
Even when you think you know all there is to know about Republican craziness, ignorance, and stupidity, along comes something else to remind you that it's a bottomless pit.
Like Rick Santorum saying not just that climate science is "bogus," as if he's in any way qualified to know what science tells about anything, but that... that... well... this:
Tell that to a plant, how dangerous carbon dioxide is.
Seriously. (Really, watch the clip below. This isn't a hoax.) Santorum actually said that carbon dioxide isn't dangerous because... it isn't dangerous to plants. Or something like that.
With that comment alone, even if you ignore every other crazy fucking thing he's said, he disqualifies himself not just from rational discourse but from civilization itself.
And yet he's doing remarkably well in this race to be the Republican nominee for president. Which tells you all you need to know about Republicans.
