Herman Cain "reassessing" his campaign
By Michael J.W. Stickings
According to a number of different sources, Cain said in a conference call this morning that he's "reassessing" his campaign. He's apparently concerned that the story of his alleged 13-year affair with Ginger White would be "too much of a cloud."
This may be part of it, but I suspect that this latest revelation for what is already a scandal- and incompetence-plagued campaign, not least in this case because he's presented himself as the candidate of unimpeachable "family values," is just what he needs, just the sort of excuse he needs, to bow out of the race on his own terms, blaming others and refusing to take any responsibility whatsoever.
Look for his self-aggrandizing departure soon, followed by an endorsement of fellow philanderer and disrespecter of women Newt Gingrich.
