Shawn Mullins: "Lullaby" and "Light You Up"
Remember Shawn Mullins? It's been over 20 years since his debut album, and he's an extremely talented singer-songwriter (with one hell of a voice), but he's best known -- and to many, no doubt, only known -- for his 1998 hit "Lullaby," a song that propelled him to unlikely, if temporary, superstardom.
Well, I recommend you check out what else he's done as well, and you can get a good sense of that from these clips from The Bing Lounge at KINK 101.9 radio in Portland.
And yet... "Lullaby" was, and remains, a really, really good song, his catchiest if not necessarily his best (though it may well be), and this version, on stage at Bing, is a reminder of just how good.
Enjoy!
Okay, here's one more, something more recent, the excellent title track off his 2010 album Light You Up:
