Evan Bayh to retire
By Creature
I think Atrios has it right. With his ego no longer being stroked and his shot at the White House gone, Bayh's going the Sarah Palin route and cashing in. Actual governing is hard work (especially when there's private money to be made and you have no dedication to helping anyone other than your corporate constituents). That being said, the timing is still strange.

I would say that Evan lives in the real world, and when he reads the TEA leaves, the message is, the Sarah Palin/Tea Party movement is going to oust the Liberal Leftists in November, so better to go out on your terms, rather than being thrown out on your backside by the People.

Surely you jest?

Teabaggers never jest.
I would, however, like to know how Even Bayh is a "Liberal Lefist."
Funny, too, how Obama wins a massive victory in '08, and that's somehow not a reflection of the popular will.
