Craziest Republican of the Day: Michele Bachmann
By Michael J.W. Stickings
How many times has she been CRD? I've lost count. Anyway, this is priceless:
There's a lot in there that's stupid... Obama is destroying the country? Really? Come on. Such hyperbole is so ridiculous as to be -- if so many on the right didn't actually believe it -- amusing.
But the best part is that Bachmann seems to think that the Democrats are trying to "sabotage" her because she might just be president one day.
Which is hilarious, of course, and even more so because Bachmann is so utterly without irony. She means it.
Now, I certainly don't speak for all Democrats, or for the Democratic Party, but I do think I speak for many Democrats when I say that I would welcome Bachmann at the top of a Republican presidential ticket.
Bring. It. On.
Or even if the Republicans want to give her a more prominent national voice. I'd be fine with that, too. I think she's be a fine spokesperson for the GOP, with just the right amount of crazy for an utterly crazy party.

Also with women politicians, they want to make sure no women, no woman becomes president before a Democrat woman, and so they're doing everything they can to, I think, sabotage women like Sarah Palin, perhaps women like myself, or similarly situated women, to make sure that we don't have a prominent national voice. But the thing is, the people in our country, they don't care who the voice is, they just want someone, they want to know that someone is speaking out for them against what will certainly bring about the destruction of our great country if we continue to go down the Obama path.

Hi Mr. Canadian:
Of course, it was NEVER hyperbole when you or one of your ilk insisted that Bush was destroying th country.

People who toss around "always" and "never" in any conversation are usually best ignored as hyperbolically deceptive.
If you doubt that George W. Bush has seriously damaged this country it raises your negative credibility level well into the orange.
If "destroyed" seems a bit hyperbolic to you, it's still a condition closer to our present condition than "improved" or even "substantially the same." Would you consider it hyperbolic to say that Bush did us all a lot of good or that Bush saved us from market regulation or that Bush championed the law and our civil rights? I'll answer it for you:
Whether or not the excursions into hyperbole of your imagined conversations are also imaginary, it's hardly necessary to go there when discussing Bush's transgressions against constitutional law, the proven error of his economic strategy and the dishonesty of his demand for invading Iraq.
Perhaps you think we were in very good shape until January 20th and perhaps that would be an opinion that lies far beyond the bounds of mere hyperbole and in the land of delusion.
And so I think we can conclude that whatever hyperbole may have been used here to any degree, nobody died, or even went bankrupt for it.
As with the vast majority of Republican apologists we see here, all you have is a tu quoque based on a contrived false equivalence between two slices of stale attitude. That may seem like a good lunch to you but I'll pass, thanks.

As I've said before, you have mastered Rule 5.
That said, I, personally, don't think Obama is destroying the country. I think to say that is hyperbole. Additionally, it is my personal opinion that your comments on Bush are hyperbole. Tbat is all - just my personal opinion.

The man took office when the country had enjoyed the longest period of prosperity ever and left it divided, At war in two countries and in the worst financial condition in 80 years.
Forgive me for questioning your "opinion"
By Capt. Fogg, at 2:52 PM
Yes, a period of prosperity enhanced by Wall Street GREED (majority of them Obama voters, or so say the exit polls), that really began during Reagan (yes, I admit that), and flourished under Clinton (the 90's were a HUGE time of greed!). It also seems that the "tied" 2000 election (and no, I'm not trying to reopen the Florida recount fight) showed the country already to be divided. Also, before those two wars (particularly the one in Afghanistan), did something "happen" on a bright, sunny morning in NYC? No, I don't mean a close match at the US Open.

"did something "happen" on a bright, sunny morning in NYC? No, I don't mean a close match at the US Open."
When all else fails, bring up 9/11. What the fuck does that have to do with anything, Mr. Guiliani? and moreover how does that ghastly bit of hyperbole prove anyone's arguments are hyperbolic?
The only important question here is why I should waste any more time with you and I think I have the answer.

Yes, and it happened nine months into the Bush administration, a month after the president received a briefing that stated in bold type that Osama bin Laden was determined to strike inside the US, and nine months after they decided that any of the information that they had received from the previous administration was worthless because they were Democrats.
That's leadership for you.

Rule 5 at work - don't answer the question or engage in debate - just RIDICULE!

Well, you invite it. It would be impolite to refuse.

And so much fun that each and every one of his comments begins with gratuitous (and ridiculous) ridicule.
