"So I've got news for you, John McCain. We all put our country first." -- Democratic nominee for president of the United States, Barack Obama.
Barack Obama's speech tonight was a point-by-point answer to every criticism leveled against him for the last few months. John McCain won't be happy after this speech, but I certainly am. Simply amazing.

Good speaker. Soaring rhetoric, with the emphasis on rhetoric. Second half was standard liberal platitudes. And, of course, Barack intends to put America first -- in a first place tie with the rest of the world. Last night was Obama's peak. All down hill from here, as McCain will win an Electoral College squeaker. Popular vote won't matter. A million new welfare moms voting in LA and NYC doesn't get you OH, FL, VA, or CO.

A few comments in response to Anon:
-- There was a lot of substance to go along witht the soaring rhetoric.
-- I hardly think these were "platitudes."
-- I think being in a first place tie with the rest of the civilized world in terms of univeral health care and education standards would be fine.
-- You are suggesting that all the new voters Obama has brought into the political process are "welfare moms"? How insultingly ignorant.
