Creating reality 101
By Creature
Today in the down-is-up world of George W. Bush's presidency the future is bright, corners are being turned, and approval ratings mean nothing because it's only a matter of time before "the [public] will start to look at the presidency through a different prism."
In BushWorld lowered expectations count as victories. In the RealWorld actual expectations have been crushed under the weight of a collapsing economy, a collapsing foreign policy, and the understanding that this president's time is up yet nothing can, or will, be done to remove him from the White House any sooner. While the country holds it's breath and waits for Bush to exit, Bush holds his breath, plays in his bubble, and spins success.
Everything about this presidency is pathetic, including its attempt at spin.
For a more complete picture of Bush as the great and soon to be popular leader see Peter Baker in today's WaPo.
