A humorous critique of voting one's identity

By LindaBeth

A (humorous) reminder that women and black Americans (not to mention black women!) actually vote for who they think is the most qualified candidate -- shocker, I know. And what a f*cking insult that the media persists in insinuating they don't. And funny, no one appears to be asking white men voting for John McCain if they're voting their gender or race. Oh that's right, McCain gets to be an unmarked "candidate" while Senators Clinton and Obama are marked as sexed and racial "others."

(video not viewable in Canada, unfortunately)

  • Great post. The media doesn't seem to have done much more than to create a sense of hysteria and to make great, emotion laden battles out of nothing.

The media is all about the media and they have no interest in helping us make intelligent choices.

  • Well, that all depends on how you define "intelligent choices." If it's your definition, Fogg, then I guess you should be President. I'll have to move, because I expect the USA to be blown up as you order all federal agents to wait in long lines at the FISA court, while Mohammed presses down on the TNT bar.

  • Talk about low-information voters! I guess you make up for the ignorance by being good at fabricating characteristics for those who think you're an idiot.
